Visitors, including children, are welcome at the facility at any time. Harbor Haven may impose limitations regarding visitation if there are clinical or safety concerns that could jeopardize the well-being of our residents.
During a Medicare Part A stay, residents are typically seen six days a week for therapy. Our therapists will evaluate each resident to develop an individualized plan that focuses on their specific needs.
Residents must have a Medicare card that includes the words “hospital insurance.” They must also be admitted to the facility with a physician’s order within 30 days of a three-consecutive-night inpatient hospital stay. Generally, during the first 20 days of care, Medicare will pay 100 percent. For days 21 to 100, a daily coinsurance is required, which is currently $200 per day. Medicare Part A does not cover skilled nursing services beyond 100 days. Medicare Advantage Plan copays may vary.
Each potential resident will be assessed to determine if an admission to Harbor Haven would be appropriate. Our residents are cared for by staff specially trained to work with those living with dementia.
Along with our specially trained staff, Harbor Haven has a monitoring system in place to ensure the safety of those who wander. We are one of only three facilities in the state with a locked unit for those at high risk of elopement.
We have a psychiatric provider on staff who makes regular rounds at the facility based on client needs. Psychiatric services are also available on an on-call basis.
I really appreciated my stay! I can’t say enough good things about the physical therapy department; every single person there makes you feel like you’re at home.

There are a lot of really super nice aides and nurses, activity staff are very sweet and nice, and the therapy is excellent! As far as therapy, you can’t find a better group of people; they made you feel like you were the only one they were taking care of. That is an excellent department.

Thank you to everyone in all the departments who gave me such wonderful care after my recent surgery. I will be forever grateful. I feel I made the right choice in coming to Harbor Haven. I will not hesitate to refer others for care. It was very obvious that everyone is so caring. Thank you once again.

I wanted to say a special thank you to everyone at Harbor Haven rehab. During my three-week stay at your facility, I was made to feel like family and shown respect and dignity. It is difficult recuperating away from home but ALL of you made my stay easier. Thanks again and God bless all of you.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your staff for the wonderful family picnic that Harbor Haven hosted for your residents and families. Everything was just perfect! The food was great. The theme and decorations (even in the elevator) really made the event fun. The centerpiece flowers were adorable. The cute ribbon on the flowers really tied the whole theme together. The music outside was so good. They could really sing! Your staff was so friendly and accommodating. I saw them interacting and dancing with the residents. Your staff has a hard job. They need to know they do make a difference for many families. I know we are forever thankful to all of you.

I have to give Harbor Haven an absolute 10! If anybody is going to go to any place for something of that nature, that is the place.
